Current time: 1:20 AM
And I am sitting at work watching a computer screen making sure that an alarm that I just fixed doesn't go off again.
Seriously, I'm on the top of the alarm call list, and if anything on our automated systems goes wrong, I get a call and I have to go fix it, no matter what time it is. Which in this case means driving 20 minutes to work to spend 5 minutes fixing a problem with the automatic tilt system in one of our incubators.
This is the second night in a row that I've gotten an alarm call, and I am very sleep deprived.
At least I get paid for 2 hours of work, even though I can hopefully go home in 3 minutes.

Aaaaaaand it looks like that did the trick. 10 minutes of my night wasted, plus the 40 minutes round trip drive time. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I'm going home and going back to bed.

When I was a key holder back in my retail days I wasn't the top of the call list... I was actually the last person on the call list (before the director of asset protection would get a call)... and on multiple occasions I was the only one that answered. I lived 40 minutes away from work, same deal... drive 40 minutes see what caused alarm to go off (usually a piece of paper catching a breeze in the shop or something really stupid) and drive back 40 minutes. That's if the police that were ALWAYS on site weren't feeling chatty. That shit sucks sometimes...
